Another busy week…

I have been keeping up the sewing and I am feeling like I am making some progress. I got a “Mini Monkey” made and with this one I really tried to do some more creative free-motion quilting. I decided that this pattern would be free to anyone who purchases one of my patterns on Etsy, or Craftsy, so check out my shop, if you’re interested:  Here are a few pictures:

Here is the entire Mini Monkey quilt.

quilting and label
I’m not much for traditional labels, so I free-motioned the label right in. I also tried to be a little more fanciful with the foliage quilting, as I have done a lot of straight-line quilting lately.

I also made a new quilt and am thinking of making it into my latest pattern. As I think up these new patterns, I often think I should be making them in two sizes, because some people want a large bed sized quilt, while others want a smaller baby quilt. I think I want to make a series of “One Yard Wonders” to accompany each larger pattern. These mini’s can make great baby quilts, or allow someone to try a variety of patterns without going broke. I was also thinking that they could be made in series and combined to make one larger quilt… Oh, the possibilities!

The new schedule of classes for Home Ec. will probably be out before I write, and I am teaching machine binding, Chunky monkey and the Block of the Month. It will be fun, as always, and keep me busy.

Until I write again, happy quilting!
